From Mpls. Jnl "Elevator, July 1, 1902, 7:6 NEW ELEVATOR COMPANY It Will Operate on New Branch of Canadian Pacific The Truesdell Elevator company, with headquarters in Minneapolis, has been incorporated with a capital of $100,000. This charter permits a rather general merchandise business, such as the dealing in coal, lumber, land and machinery. The company will do business on the Moosemew branch of the Canadian Pacific, now building from Souris. One elevator has been purchased as it stands, another is in course of construction by Robinson & Company, contractors of Winnipeg, and a dozen more will be built as fast as the rails are laid to townsites. Souris is 157 miles west of Winnipeg. Until fall, at least, the business will be managed from this city, where headquarters wil always be maintained, but it is probable that an executive office will be opened at Winnipeg. Officers of the Truesdell Elevator company have been elected as follows: President, Jay E. Truesdell; vice president, Thomas G. Winter; secretary and treasurer, Lynn G. Truesdell. T. A. Brann, once Minneapolis agent of the Great Northern, and later of the Baltimore & Ohio at Cumberland, Md., is one of the incorporators. Mr. Winter is of the grain firm of Winter & Ames, and Lynn Truesdell was formerly of Truesdell & Spear. (SOURCE: Jean Crump)
