Owatonna Journal, January 1, 1874, Page 3 DIED: Dec 30, 1873, 34 years, wife of J.E. Truesdell Owatonna Journal - Jan 8, 1874 Pg.3 OBITUARY Died, in Owatonna, Minn. Dec 30th, 1873, Mrs Caroline (aka Carrie) L, wife of Mr Jay E Truesdell, age 31 years, 11 months and 7 days. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord" Mrs Truesdell was born in Guilford, Chenango County, New York and in April 1860 was married to Mr. T. About three years after she, together with her husband espoused the cause of our Savior and united with the Presbyterian Church in Dryden, New York. In 1867 she accompanied her husband to Mantorville, Minn. where she identified herself with the Congregational Church for nearly four years; for the last two years she was a resident of Owatonna, Minn and connected with the Congregational Church of this city. She has now gone to these mansions above. Seldom are we called to record the death of one possessing so symmetrical and lovable a character. The qualities of siplicity and strength, gentleness and decision, modesty and sociality wer most beautifully combined. Her life was that of a consistent, earnest, devboted Christian. In all the relations which she sustained, as wife, mother, Christian and friend, she was "a pattern of good works" and adorned humanity; and dying left in the hearts of all who knew her a memory fragrant with the graces of a spirit purified and refined for the society of heaven. She leaves a husband and four dear children, and the large circle of friends most deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.
